My wife and I have been binge-watching some Dragnet episodes lately and as we hear Friday intone this is the city we can see the City Hall is the tallest building in L.A. These days, you would barely be able to see the City Hall in that view of the skyline.
In Jack Webbs opening Dragnet monologues, there are interesting facts I have learned about Los Angeles. For a long time, no building was allowed to be taller than 13 stories because of the threat of earthquakes. I guess they have made significant safety improvements in building and constructing taller buildings since Dragnet ended its run in 1970.
