12. I put three of the fresh flowers with stems in a dry vase & stored it on a shelf in a dark corner of my living room

The flowers dried within a week or so and still look stunning after more than a month. Their structure is more dense and fibrous than poinsettia flowers, which are leaflike in structure. I've noticed that poinsettia flowers turn grey as they dry and eventually crumble. Your hairspray solution might work if the flowers still have some moisture. Best of luck!
