Most of the time, I grab a photo from web search, rub out a bit of background, and copy and paste other images onto the background.

I use the simplest features of GIMP, a free and open source image editor that runs on all desktop systems. I finally figured out layers after many years.

But for many images, the biggest helpers are the airbrushing, to get a good blend-in and color adjustments.

I use them gently on my nice camera photos to zap them up a bit.

GIMP is a sort of free Photoshop clone. I always disliked Adobe's pricing.

Otherwise, the Apple preview app does about all I need with the fine camera jpegs I get. And removing backgrounds works well there, better than GIMP for my usage.

I have excellent software for raw camera images, but rarely need the extra tools there. Results are great with the simple(r) software.

There used to be computer clubs. Is there a photoshop class available at a nearby college or center?

Thanks.
