9. Los Gatos is very pretty and very pricey. By California standards.

I don't ever recall snow on the coastal mountains. It has been seen across the bay on Mount Diablo, which closes, IIRC during snowfall to prevent people from injuring themselves.

Since I've been away for some 10 years, things may have changed.

One of my scariest moments was driving in San Francisco in a 2WD pickup up a steep hill at night in the rain and metal trolley tracks. "It was a dark and stormy night" ...

Always fun to visit the area. When I first interviewed in CA, coming from the east coast, walking around in shirtsleeves in December was something else. I landed in Redwood City in 1980, and the FortyNiners practiced a few blocks away. Good timing. I commuted on the Foothill Expressway, (I live in the Sierra Foothills currently) and there would be Maseratis and Lamborghinis next to me. At stop lights.

All memories subject to correction, since it was a very long time ago. But all positive. (well, there were a couple of really awful jobs along the way).
