this was my first year for the pneumonia, but I've gotten flu vax for as many years as I can remember, and plan on getting it each year now that I'm up there in years.

BUT there has been a really bad respiratory bug going around here. I thought I was over it, and then three days later (after I got out in the cold for a change), I came back down with it and worse than it had been before. I don't think I've ever had my nose run so fast and furiously and all the freaking time! Not to mention the cough and sore throat. It almost felt like I had bronchitis. But my doc is 45 minutes away in another city, and I didn't feel like driving all the way there to confirm anything. I'm just keeping an eye on my O2 saturation and trying to stay out of the cold. Hopefully this will go away before the trees and weeds start pollinating and I start all over again... this time will allergies.

There used to be a medicine (prescription) called Hismanal. Taking it, I experienced life for the first time in forever without a runny nose and cough. It was an allergy wonder drug for me. And of course, they took it off the market because it supposedly interacted so badly with grapefruit (what doesn't!). All I could think was,"Wow... I finally find something that works for me and they rip it away!" ARGH!
