As of February 2026, there were 3,188 pending Uber sexual assault lawsuits in federal court claiming “Uber failed to implement appropriate safety precautions to protect passengers, and that plaintiffs suffered sexual assault or harassment as a result.”

Uber cases have also been coordinated in California’s District Courts.

In February 2026, a huge win was recorded for people who have filed lawsuits. The first federal bellwether trial ended in a loss for Uber, with the company ordered to pay $8.5 million to a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by a driver.

That outcome could have a significant impact for the thousands of other lawsuits.
