America should work with the UNHCR to provide a place for these families fleeing the awful war in Syria.

I was at an interfaith potluck here in Murfreesboro, TN a few weekends ago. I met a refugee family from Syria. I also met Hassan, a fifty-something man who came from Syria about 10 years ago. He was bursting with pride. He had just passed his citizenship test in Memphis and was a proud, new, US citizen.

If we (Democrats) lose on this issue then so be it, but I'd like to hope America is better than that.
