to The Open Door Mission in Rochester, NY. They're a religious organization, salvation a'la mode and a cup of tea (all apologies to Ian Anderson) but they do great work. Being a secular humanist it may seem like an odd pairing for me, but unlike most other churches, who seem to love amassing treasure instead of doing good deeds, they definitely walk the walk. I give generously, because of the great work they do. Wind chills here will be close to zero for the next few nights, and Rochester's homeless will need all the help they can get.

I suggest giving locally or nationally if you can spare the cash, because there are so many in our country who have absolutely nothing, and that's a crime for the richest country in the world.
