Will Florida see campaigning from Harris and Trump amid narrowing polls? [View all]

Florida is not considered a swing state given the GOP’s lead in voter registrations, but with polls tightening and both campaigns buying TV ads for the first time, voters shouldn’t be surprised to find both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump campaigning in person here before November.

“I could totally see a Harris-Walz campaign having a big event here, whether it’s in Orlando or Tampa or Miami,” said Democratic elections analyst Matt Isbell.

“Florida leans Republican, nobody can argue that point,” Isbell said. “But the Florida Democrats have all the incentive in the world to make as much of a play as they can.”

Neither the Harris nor Trump campaigns confirmed any planned events by their candidates in the Sunshine State. But both last week aired ads in Palm Beach County.
