5. We only purge after two consecutive election mail returns

We are mailed a voter card every even year in January. If it is returned to the Elections office, the voter is marked as Suspended - which does not mean that they can't vote, it is a flag for the election judges to get an address change if the voter comes to the polls. If the voter still has not been to the polls or other wise contacted the Elections office after a second round of the voter cards are mailed then the voter is purged.

On the other hand, if you have moved and no one sends the card back to the Elections office, you will not be purged. My daughter is still registered to vote here just because I did not know until a few years ago that I needed to return that card! I just dropped them in the wastebasket. She has lived in Phoenix for 12 years and votes there. I will be returning the second one this January and she will finally get off the voter registry!
