Chemical Fire at Lab in Conyers. 17, 000 residents advised to evacuate or shelter in place [View all]

This is really bad. I don’t live too far from there. The fire started this morning. You can see the huge smoke clouds from miles away.
I had no idea this was happening until I left home a while ago, only to run into traffic on the residential streets because I 20 was shut down.

This cannot be good for people to be exposed to all the chemicals in the air. Folks are out there taking pics and videos.
They are advising people to stay inside with the windows closed.

Fire reignites at Conyers chemical plant; evacuations underway, sheriff says
A fire reignited Sunday at a chemical facility in Conyers, officials said, forcing the evacuations of local residents and leading to several road closures, including I-20.

Officials said the blaze reignited after being contained Sunday morning at BioLab on Old Covington Highway, the third such incident at the plant over the past seven years. Photos showed a massive plume of smoke in the sky that was visible from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport — about 30 miles away.
