United Airlines said the body was found after the Boeing 787-10 landed in Kahului on a non-stop flight from Chicago.

KAHULUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - An investigation is underway after a person was found dead in the wheel well of a plane at Maui’s Kahului Airport on Christmas Eve.
In a statement, United Airlines confirmed a body was found Tuesday after flight 202, a Boeing 787-10, arrived in Kahului from Chicago.
The body was discovered in the wheel well of one of the aircraft’s main landing gears, the airline said. ... “The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well,” United Airlines said in a statement. ... “United is working with law enforcement authorities on the investigation,” the statement said.
The Maui Police Department is also investigating, but did not release any details. ... State officials said operations at the airport were normal and not affected by this incident.
