I love both states for their scenery and small towns, I have relatives in both states and will be going back to them and thru them (We're full-time RV'ers) many times, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE POLITICS IN BOTH STATES and I place a lot of the blame on the predominant faith in those two states.
That is NOT the only reason for their right wing leanings, but if "The Church" would call out right wing radio and tell their wards to listen to and respect the other side, it could make a huge difference.
Disclaimer: I was born in Utah & lived in Utah for 69 years. Trust me, I know of what I preach!
