the "dominant" cultural group in that state not only rely on the $$, they need it to keep their minions of the cult in line. If they started thinking for themselves, they would quit the "club". The education system promotes ignorance on purpose and when I lived there, many mothers complained that the school system required they put their grade school kids on ritalin or they wouldn't be admitted.

Been going on so long that they don't bother to hide it anymore... like a certain presidential candidate we all know and loathe.
