51-point buck bagged in Illinois may beat out Tennessee hunter's national title [View all]

Over 900,000 white-tailed deer and bucks bound through Tennessee's hunting grounds. The size of its deer herds is complemented by the fact that the state is also home to the record for the largest buck ever bagged nationally.

Keith Szableswki, a hunter in Illinois, bagged what may be a 51-point buck, and could be a national record.

The current record, held by Stephen Tucker from Tennessee, is a 47-point buck. Tucker shot his buck with a muzzleloader in 2016, and Szableswki bagged his buck during Illinois' shotgun season, in mid-November.

Szablewski's buck will officially be scored by a panel of judges in July, according to FarmWeekNow.com.
