1. I think living in Illinois and other blue states is going to help a lot of people.

There are no guarantees, of course, but at least immigrants in Chicago will have a fighting chance.

If TSF really tries to go through with his mass deportation plans, I think he may find he's bitten off more than he can chew. There's going to be a wide variation in the level of cooperation ICE gets from state and local officials, from rolling out the welcome mat to fierce resistance. Lawsuits will be lobbed back and forth like tennis balls, and the whole thing could get bogged down in the courts for quite a while.

All things considered, if I were an immigrant, I'd much rather be in Chicago than in a red part of Illinois, much less in a red state.
