They wanted it on this year's ballot for those exact reasons, hoping that they could push it through with a traditionally low dem turnout. I'd like to think that we could turn out en mas to defeat a referendum and elect more democrats but I'm skeptical that it would actually work out that way.

I also have a general moral issue with anyone's rights being subjected to a popular vote.

Anyway, let's just be happy that it's gone for now!
