Read this article from the Chronicle of Higher Education describing the upcoming hotspot potential in Ames. Come on Covid Kim do the right thing and require masks. Interesting read on how ISU is focused on mitigating the potential but really getting zero help from the Governor.

Might have to sign in but here is a excerpt from the article.
I mean, if they can get away without social distancing, they are going to, said Phil DeLarme, a manager of Macubana, a restaurant specializing in fare to satisfy late-night cravings. DeLarme and his employees are wearing masks, but since the state has no mask mandate, he cant force customers to wear them.
All we can do is sanitize everything as often as possible and just try and keep the public as safe as we can, DeLarme said. But every week, some employees cant show up for work because they were around someone who was infected, and they need to get tested for Covid-19. Just recently, he said, every bar on Welch Avenue here was shut down for a week or two, depending on how their employees tested.
People were just going out, knowing they were positive, he said. They didnt care.
And the academic year hasnt even started.
