1. It is one of the real problems of public education

Home life for so many kids is terrible. Little clothing, hungry, tired, and upset... maybe mom or dad (or both) are in jail, and we expect them to sit all day and memorize things so they can pass a test.

My daughter teaches inclusion classes in a poor rural area. The things those kids go through at home would break your hearts. I know it breaks hers.
