I'm sorry. I would guess maybe I know some things that you are not familiar with, just as there are things that you know and about which I am ignorant.

Like, why would someone want to ride a bull? Does it have roots in some practical application, or is it purely for entertainment in order to annoy a bull so that it tries to get a person off of its back?

I really don't know, and I'm sorry that a question like that makes you suicidal.

I just don't see what's in it for the rider or the bull.

My limited understanding is that rodeos are exhibitions of certain skills, like roping cattle etc., that have some sort of practical application. Even in bullfighting, my understanding is that the bull is eventually butchered and eaten. I understand eating a bull, but the practicality of riding one is a mystery to me.
