US Rep. Joe Kennedy criticizes shifting rhetoric from White House on North Korea [View all]

U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, said the U.S. must address the threat from North Korea by engaging diplomatically with our allies.

"What's critical is the U.S. government is on the same page as our allies," Kennedy said, speaking to reporters Wednesday before an unrelated event in Boston.

There has recently been increasing tension between the U.S. and North Korea, as North Korea has tested missiles and threatened the U.S. territory of Guam. Trump has said he will respond with "fire and fury," but has also talked about using diplomacy.

News reports have tracked changing responses from Trump administration officials on Korea.
