Tisei is going to use this for all he can, and will continue to ...ummm....exaggerate.....until election day. It is much easier than discussing actual issues.

Background on the Eremian Brothers is extensive. They owned a very popular bar in Peabody Square for a long time, giving it up only when the illegal gambling there got them arrested and sentenced.

A federal prosecutor, a superior court judge and a parole official later gave them the OK to go to Antigua to manage an off shore betting establishment there. They sent money to their sister Patrice - an accountant, by trade - to manage their expenses here, including Robert's children, and his former wife, etc. She did report the income as being from the source they told her it was. Turns out illegal betting was the source. Daniel was, buy the time this all broke, back here in MA, and was indicted for the illegal gambling, and other charges. Patrice was charged with filing false tax returns for the brothers.

She pleaded guilty and spent 1 month in a Federal lock-up, and another few months on probation with an anklet.

Now, of course, Daniel is saying "I am, of course, innocent, but John knew all about the illegal activity in which I was involved. (But, gee, the Eremian brothers word is just so reliable, right? Has been from the start!!)

It is all, of course, meant to be a distraction. John is one of the most honest people I know, and Patrice is a wonderful human being.
