Back when these cars were the norm we used to sneak from behind a bush or some other obstruction and jump out and grab the bumper and see who could "ski" behind it the longest without falling off (the unsuspecting drivers often chased us if they saw us lol). Seemed I never won until one time I did, everybody fell off but me. The guy driving saw them fall off and turned to go around the block mad.
They saw him coming and took off running to hide. When the car stopped he got out yelling but didn't bother looking for anyone. My friends didn't see me but when the guy pulled away there was my gloves frozen to the bumper. About 5 min later I came walking around the corner, face bloodied. I couldn't let go when they did because my gloves froze to the steel bumper and when the guy turned he turned onto a street where the pavement had dry spots of which one I hit and faceplanted at about 25mph.

Lesson learned. Never wear gloves with wrist buckles when hopping cars lol.
