If some one wanted to push it, instead of finding a venue just out of town, the vendors and show might have a case. It has been shown that jurisdictions can't charge more than a reasonable amount for services. This was done based on photo copying charges jurisdictions levied on people getting documents. Cities were force to charge only the true costs. I think it would be hard to justify 50 vendors with booths costing $3,750 for fire inspections.

Not a fan of gun shows. It may be true that the codes allow charges for inspections but there are limits to charges that are punitive.
