LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - ACLU of Nevada filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Nye County.

The lawsuit discusses the county’s restriction of observing the election process. The organization says they want to ensure election transparency.

ACLU of Nevada says the public’s ability to monitor the voting process firsthand is important to keep trust.

“During this year’s Presidential Preference Primary, the Nye County Clerk’s office blocked an ACLU of Nevada staff member from observing election procedures as nonpartisan because of a policy that limits observers based on political affiliation, regardless of available space — a violation of state law and the Nevada Constitution,” the organization said.
