The child is 3 years old - unless he's some evil prodigy who figured no one would blame a child his age for offing his idiot parents then I'd be pretty sure it was an accident from his side of it.

On the other hand, a handgun in a purse in the reach of toddlers really is no accident and the parents should be charged with endangerment.
