Here in New York, masks were required to enter any business until July of this year - and it was enforced. The mandate was rescinded just in time for "tourist season" in these parts and the arrival of the Delta variant. Last year everything was closed down and there was a quarantine in place for anyone entering the state. This year, everything's open and masks are only required for the unvaccinated, and it's "the honor system" - so there's rarely a mask in sight, especially among the tourists who are currently packing the streets.
