NY law allows a party to cross-nominate a candidate with another party.

Parties need 150,000 votes to maintain their automatic ballot access. Obviously the Democratic and Republican parties easily reach that, but it's harder for smaller parties. So WF will usually cross-nominate Democrats in more high profile races and that allows them to get the votes to stay on the ballot for other races where they run their own candidates (like this one). It lets people support third-parties without wasting their votes in important elections. Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Chuck Schumer all encouraged Democrats to vote for Biden/Harris on the WF line in 2020 for that reason.

Just wanted to explain for anyone curious about Working Families.
