The DFW Metroplex had over 1 million votes cast in the first week of early voting. Google tells me that the total metroplex population is close to the total population of all NYC boroughs. Is election day voting a bigger thing in New York? Texas has had early voting since 1987 and in recent elections, election day voting has been fairly slow (at least in my area) because so many people voted early.
