6. Better Track Where That $ Goes

I'm cynical about highway funding. Wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of the money is funneled to rural Republican areas and not where most of the traffic is. That's how my state works. The amount of roads per person is skewed rural so the bulk of the money doesn't go where traffic volumes are highest.

In my state, lots of rural areas build over inflated road infrastructure in the name of economic development. The local tax base can't maintain the structures so state money is then funneled for maintenance taking it away from areas with more traffic and traffic problems.

You know, if the Repubs vote against an infrastructure bill then they shouldn't lay claim to any of the funds. It's not like the people in these area will ever vote Democratic.
