Once again Mother Nature has let us know that she is pissed off and overburdened. Until we implement policies that voluntarily reduce the population on the planet to half of today's number we will continue to suffer huge (and growing) natural disasters. Building more housing for a growing population leads to more impermeable surfaces and greater runoff during storms. Rising temperatures due to excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere intensify hurricanes. We are speeding down a dark road with the headlights off. It ain't gonna be pretty when we finally reach the end.
