Snip-"U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan raised $9.1 million in the latest fundraising period compared to Vance's $2.3 million, according to Federal Election Commission filings. The funding disparity raised eyebrows among political observers, and some suggested Vance needs to up the ante to keep the race competitive."

snip-"The disclosures also came in the wake of multiple polls that show a close race between Vance and Ryan. A USA TODAY Network Ohio/Suffolk University survey conducted after the primary showed Vance ahead with 41.6% of voters, but Ryan trailed closely behind at 39.4%."

snip-" By contrast, the super PAC supporting Vance spent nearly $6.4 million from April to July. Vance's committees also owe a collective $1 million in debt, although $700,000 of that is a personal loan from Vance. "

snip-" Kyle Kondik, the managing editor of Sabato's Crystal Ball, said Vance remains the favorite candidate in the current political climate, but it's always better to have more money on hand. He also questioned how Vance is spending his time amid criticism that he's not campaigning heavily – a narrative Vance's advisers dispute."I just wonder what he’s up to," Kondik said. "Typically, if a candidate isn’t having as many events, they’re sometimes using that to raise money."
