5. If TAA gets voted down tomorrow and TPA goes back to the Senate...

... that is the last chance for Wyden in my book.

I think he'd have a chance to put lipstick on a pig and lead the Senate in to voting it down there.

He could have a good excuse to do so by saying something like:

"Well, I negotiated to have TAA included in this bill to help workers. If it is no longer a part of this TPA bill, then I no longer can support it, and I urge other Democrats to do the same."

If he were to do that and shut down the TPA in the Senate and therfore in effect KILL it and force TPP to be negotiated the way normal trade treaties are, then I could say that I'd reconsider supporting him in the Senate. But if he doesn't do that, and if ultimately he helps it go back to the House where it gets passed again (without the TAA as well), then it is time for DeFazio to step up and primary him.

If it goes back to the Senate, we should all call his office and recommend this course of action to him, so that he won't be able to play dumb later, and if he does respond to us and do as we ask, then he'll have gotten my respect again.
