Scott Perry: Progressive groups are trying to hijack town halls and make mockery of legislative process
Rep. Scott Perry is doubling down on his response to complaints that several dozen seats remained empty during a recent town hall that had been labeled sold out.
In a Facebook post, Perry on Thursday took issue with the media for putting out fake news reports and targeted progressive groups claiming they are trying to hijack town halls and make a mockery of the legislative process.
Perry, a member of the conservative Freedom Caucus, suggested that members of such groups as Capitol Region Indivisible, Cumberland County Rising and Hershey Indivisible intentionally created the empty seat situation to make it look as if he had denied constituents the opportunity to participate even though seats were available.
Too many of these groups clearly have no interest in participating or finding solutions to our Nations problems, Perry on his Facebook post. Their sole purpose is to disrupt, malign, distract and hijack events for political gain - which is clear from most of their websites, mission statements and battle plans many of which have been sent to us by members/former members who also believe that lines are being crossed. To the people with the integrity and fortitude to make the hard right over the easy wrong - regardless of your side of the aisle.
