John Fetterman rallied in deeply red Butler County Tuesday evening with supporters and elected officials at Steamfitters Technology in Harmony.

The Democratic U.S. Senate nominee spoke for about 20 minutes about marriage equality, expanding health care, raising the minimum wage, cutting taxes and codifying Roe v. Wade, among other topics, according to Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV. The rally came the same day Republican candidate Mehmet Oz rallied with local members of the Fraternal Order of the Police in Homestead.

Mr. Fetterman was joined at the event Tuesday by Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel, Chair of the Butler County Democrats Catherine Lalonde, UA Local 449 Steamfitters Business Manager Ken Broadbent, and Maya King, an organizer with All in PA. About 200 people gathered for the rally, according to KDKA.

Mr. Fetterman addressed concerns surrounding his health and continued attacks from the Oz campaign about his fitness for office after suffering a stroke just before the primary in May.

"I'm an emergency room nurse, and I thought he's doing wonderful," rally attendee Deb Talarico of Lawrenceville told KDKA. "He looked great to me. I think he's progressing wonderfully.”
