4. I found going direct to a provider is faster than VDH

I filled out a form on Mary Washington Hospital's website and within 3 days had my first shot appointment. The Covid shot program at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg was run like a well-oiled machine. Mrs Best and I were in and out for both shots (Pfizer) in less than 30 minutes.

Usually when you get the first shot, they have you make the appointment for the second shot right there, at least that is how Mary Washington is working their program.

Folks in VA need to: 1) Be proactive about locating a shot appointment, and 2) Look to local providers (Kroger, CVS, Walgreens) and not depend solely on VDH.
