Nobody quite knew why Trump casually mentioned that he was taking hydroxychloroquine. This explains it. He had just been advised of the results of this study, and he was trying to save face, as he always does. He was already plotting to claim that this study was “bad science,” and he used himself as evidence that the study must be flawed.
