2. I was talking to someone about the labor shortage

And they complained about workers not wanting to work. I told them maybe the employers were jerks who unpaid their workers and they decided to find better working conditions. The person said I didn’t think of that.

There are plenty of small businesses where I live who kept employees because they were treated well and got paid better wages.
