8. With the Electoral College, most people's votes simply dont count.

Especially if you are voting for the candidate who can't possibly win your state. Heck, even if your preferred candidate is going to win your state by a landslide, your one vote still hardly matters, since it's the number of Electoral College votes your state has that count.

Plus, if we went to electing by the popular vote, candidates would have to pay attention to every single state, not just concentrate on the ones that are a bit iffy.
