What is the best way to transfer the photos on my iPhone 6 to my laptop. [View all]

I have a ton of photos that I need to transfer to my laptop, but want to keep some of them on my iPhone 6. I’m sure it’s easy, but as senior, I’m no computer genius. Any advice?
