8. I've been happy with TracFone for a lot of years.

It costs less than $120 a year. Something about the last phone I bought seems to have gotten me unlimited talk and text as well, and the phone only cost $100. It's not the latest fancy thing and it's not 5g, but it does have 3/4 of a terabyte of memory with an added SD card, and it serves my needs beautifully. Even when I did not get unlimited talk and text, I could always buy more texts, I forget how many, for 10 bucks. I still don't get unlimited data, but I can buy three gig for 10 bucks, and a gig comes with refill card that I buy every year. Now if it's just some kind of fluke that I wound up with unlimited talk and text, and you get a yearly card where all three are limited, it might not work if you use your phone a lot for talk, text, and data. I don't. To me it's more like a small computer that also allows me to communicate with friends, family, and businesses, if necessary.
