3. If it's an Android phone, You can use Google's Find My Device, logged in to the phone's Google account.

Apple has something along the same lines, but I have no experience with it.

If the phone is powered on and location is enabled, Find My Device will give a rough idea.
It can also tell the device to ring continuously for several minutes.
If the phone is actually lost, the remote factory reset option is also there.
