You pay for it.

If you buy from Apple, they set it up for you! I paid for my phone, signed with Spectrum,$14 a month ,but keep it fo when I am out.

I much prefer my IPAD. And, if you wear hearing aids they are connected to your phone and IPAD.

WHEN I first got mine I was listening to a video. My IPAD phone rang. Trying toturn off the video, my landline started ringing.. I got the vopideo off the phone had quit. Meanwhile my Ring doorbell rang! Now, I know what to do!

Oh, the joys of technology!
