Stupid as Ryan is, he looks like he doesn't really want to give Joe a chance to go for his jugular. In dog terms - complimentary coming from me, now! - I can't decide if the best VP ever reminds me more of a chow in that picture or a terrier. Both are utterly fearless and able to inflict considerable damage if they take a notion.

The only thing that concerns me is a possible big tug of war between Joe and Hillary for First Chair in '16. Not only because a protracted fight could weaken the party's chances but also because I'd feel horribly torn between two people I love dearly. Until the moment I had ballot in hand in '08, I had no way of knowing whether it would go for Obama or HRC. I don't want to have to face such a terrible choice again. Hope they can work it out. I'd love to have either of them for President, and you know Joe's not going to settle for VP another term. What to do, what to do ....
