The Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal took place in 1998 after Bill Clinton won re-election in 1996. Clinton was a lame duck President who was going to leave the US Presidency in 2000 due to term limits. Clinton tried to covered up the Lewinsky affair to protect his marriage.
The Donald Trump/Stormy Daniels cover-up scandal took place in 2016. Trump was trying to get elected to the US Presidency is the reason why Trump covered up the Stormy Daniels affair.
