3. I live on the Outer Banks on NC

and we've been hammered by the storm for the past 48+ hours. Lots of flooding and widespread damage. It's still raining and now the wind has switched in the opposite direction of what it was yesterday, causing even more problems. Unfortunately, because of our relatively small population, we'll no doubt be totally ignored by the national media and response from the federal government will be slow. Such is life on a sandbar.
