NOT about SoS: nice things said about Sen. Kerry [View all]
NB: this thread is intended NOT to be a discussion about SoS (even though the quote comes from yet another piece on that).
I am posting this with the idea that there is at least some good consequence of the @#$$: I see more statements about Sen. Kerry that suggest that people are finally beginning to see who he really is, and/or appreciate who he is. This is for the good no matter what the outcome of this ridiculous (and needlessly ridiculous) situation.
If you have any other examples, please post them here. I know that there have been several good examples on other threads.. .I welcome people reminding us of those older examples here.
Anyway, this is from David Ignatius in today's WaPo (PLEASE do not comment on the overall topic of his oped, which is, alas, on the Subject Which Must Not be Named on This Thread. If you care to comment on the entirety of his oped, please do so on another thread). First sentence is included ONLY to provide context, not to invite commentary on the SWMNBNONTT:

If State Department officials could select their own boss, they would probably pick Sen. John Kerry. He presents himself (as has Hillary Clinton) in the practiced, reassuring way that a seasoned politician can. And to a surprising extent, Kerry thinks outside the box. He was early to understand the importance of engaging Americas adversaries in Iran, Syria and even Hamas. He has operated as Obamas private emissary in Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere, and has been loyal and discreet.
Yup, thinks outside the box. That's my Senator, and I'm glad that someone is saying this publicly. The "outside the box" part is a key reason why I support him so strongly.
Other examples of compliments, anyone?
Remember: NO commentary on the Subject Which Must Not Be Named on This Thread.
