1. Look into Physicians Mutual Insurance

They've been in business since 1902. They even stayed in business and paid claims through the stock market crash of 1929 and through the Great Depression. Since it's a mutual insurance company, it's owned by its policy holders, not by stockholders expecting he stock price to rise or quarterly dividends. I worked for them for a few months. I was lousy at sales, but not because it was a bad company. It's just not very well known. They may not be the cheapest term policy initially, but they will show you their history of rate increases, which are low. Over the long term, they are a good choice.
