Here is an excerpt from my fourth book:

AmyStrange & the Criminal
(Part 4: the Wedding)

Chapter 58

[SNIP]

After the President meets AmyStrange, the talking Cat, Beth and the Criminal are discussing unbelievable things, when he says...

“This is beginning to sound like that commercial about the fake butter,” I said, and added in a high squeaky voice, “I still can’t believe it’s not butter.”

“That’s not how it goes, biscuit boy,” Beth said and laughed.

“Eh, same difference.”

“Same difference?” Beth asked. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“That the differences are the same.”

“What differences?”

“The ones between my song and the real one,” I said, and then added helpfully, “They’re different, but still the same.”

“What?”

Thinking back on what I’d just said, it didn’t make any sense, so instead I asked, “Why are you even arguing with me about this?”

“I’m not...” Beth started to say but realized the trap I’d set for her.

“That’s usually my line,” I said, “but now you know how I feel, goochy girl.”

“Goochy girl? What the hell is that?” Beth asked.

“Hey, I didn’t complain when you called me a biscuit boy.”

“Yeah, but at least you know what that is.”

“No, I don’t.”

“It’s a boy with a biscuit. What’s to figure out?”

“But, I’m not holding a biscuit.”

“Eh, same difference,” Beth said, and everyone laughed.
