Is there an agency or something similar to PREVENT [View all]

banks and financial institutions/businesses from giving loans in your name?

My friend's wife is taking out multiple loans in his name by doing it online. (She has his DOB and SS#.)

He refuses to go to the police and/or prosecutor to file fraud charges against her. (He's deathly afraid of her.)

In the meantime, he's stuck with 5-digit loans in his name alone. Not only damage to his credit history, but real threat of collection agencies getting judgments against him, loss of their home, etc. And he's in his late 70's with no means of paying back these loans.

The MO is that his wife knows that he will go to his sister who has bailed him out in the past. But Sister now sees that she is financing her sister-in-law's financial follies and is refusing to continue.

So, in summary, is there any way my friend can put himself on a credit "Dud List" where he can be "blacklisted"?

Or will these financial businesses continue to loan money to his wife through him because of the interest and late fees that accumulate via no payments?
